The Titan Project was a classified human research project that was developed somewhere between 3020 and 3022.

History[]

Mars Terraformation Idea[]

The origins of the Titan Project takes its root from an old human idea of terraformation that was conceive centuries ago. When humanity realized Earth's resources were finite, as early as the 20th century plans were made for the terraformation of Mars. The idea that was suggested at the time was to manipulate the topsoil and atmospheric conditions of an existing desert world to create a planet habitable by humans right next door. By doing so Mars could accommodate Earth's ever expanding population.

However the scientists at the time weren't ready to undertake such a procedure, instead of waiting for the technology to catch up they instead colonized Mars as it was. Later it was deemed that terraformation was impossible without destroying the colony. The idea for terraformation got no more attention and was forgotten.

Revived Interest[]

A millennium later, the idea was revisited by a human scientist named Professor Sam Tucker. The scientist at the the time was wrestling on the concept of binary stars when he heard about an ancient alien race known as the Gaoul. Professor Tucker wanting to meet the Gaoul, then took a commission on a special military mission into deep space. The journey took him to the planet Sesharrim where Tucker met the Gaoul. There after learning to communicate with the aliens, the Gaoul told Tucker that they had forseen humanity's overpopulation problem and predicted conflicts with other species. In order to save humanity, they suggested to Tucker the idea of terraformation

The way pointed out to the human, led Tucker to leave the military, to focus on life instead of death. Professor Tucker knew that mankind would continue to multiply and Earth's resources be nearly run out.

His work to save humanity led to him in developing ‘simple’ methods of stimulating planetary ecology by using a revolutionary technique called “biotemplating’ at an elemental level. However his plan was not merely to transform a planet for habitation, but create a brand new world.

Before the project was given a name, it was considered controversial as many scientists disagreed on diverting time and money on an idea that was abandoned centuries ago. It was regarded as an outrageous concept, and that other scientific endeavors like aspects of space travel and armaments should be better developed on. Nevertheless Tucker received attention for his work by the Tech Council who approved it and gave him the resources of Kronos Outpost to start its inception.

Despite the Titan Project supposedly being a human initiative, nonhumans were also involved in its conception. Two alien scientists, Tek and his wife Ryt were greatly impressed at the human's scientific techniques and believed in its viability. They volunteered to exchange their knowledge of environmental science and technology for a chance to assist him in the Titan Project. It was the hope of the couple that they would be able to use Professor Tuckers ideas to rejuvenate our own world. Hence the government of Earth and Vusstra negotiated closely for the future benefits of the project which led to the development of the side project known as the Vusstran Renewal Plan.

Titan Project[]

The great endeavor now formally named the Titan Project eventually evolved from simply refining a method of terraforming to the construction of a revolutionary vessel that would undergo the process of creating a planet.

Legacy[]

Fifteen years after the Titan's disappearance in the aftermath of Earth's destruction, many rumors of the Titan circulated. Some believed that it held the hope of Earth and the secret for mankind’s eventual return to glory.

The years of research Sam Tucker and his colleagues had put in during the Titan Project, much of it lost in the confusion of the evacuation. Though there still existed some members of the Titan Project who survived and escape the destruction of Earth, the project could not be recreated as none were as brilliant as Professor Sam Tucker. One scientist, Ryt with the help of her husband Tek attempted to reconstruct the plan for the Titan Project, however the plan was halted after Ryt died due to her declining health. Tek being one of the last surviving members of the project still retain some vital data that was archived with the plans for the Titan Project but lacked the skill to fully recreate it.
